Italian top manager Palmiro Noschese is the new president of Confassociazioni Tourism, Food, Hospitality

Italian top manager in tourism and hospitality, Palmiro Noschese, is appointed President of Confassociazioni Tourism, Food, Hospitality. With a degree in Tourism for Cultural Heritage, a master's degree in Corporate Management from the Ecole hôtelière in Lausanne, in General Management from Cornell University in Ithaca and in Science of Economics and Business Management, Palmiro Noschese has over 30 years of experience as General Manager & Residence Manager in hotels, congresses and international events.

Noschese worked for Touring Club Italiano, Villa D'Este Hotels and Jolly Hotels before joining Melià Hotel Internationals, a company within which he rose to the role of Managing Director Italy. In his program as President of Confassociazioni Tourism, Food, Hospitality, there are topics such as training, certifications, B2B networking, strategic proximity to the wine and beverage sector.

"In our sector - said President Noschese - there have been some important signs of recovery, but the recovery of the pre-Covid situation is still far away. Of the 25 million people who, on average, travel between June and September, 4.5 this year did not do so, 71% stayed only 5 nights, 18% shorter stays".

"But we never give up - continued the new President of Confassociazioni Tourism, Food, Hospitality - because every crisis generates opportunities: the sector has a new Minister, and there will be funds and tax breaks to renovate hotels. I believe that 2022 will be the year of recovery, but we must all do our part together. And to young people who aspire to work in tourism, we say never stop training to make Italy rise from fifth to first place among the favorite destinations in the world."

"One way to overcome the crisis in the sector - added Clara Trama, new Executive Vice President of the Tourism, Food, Hospitality branch and President of the Italian Wedding Planner Association - is through continuous training and certifications. We have recently approved the procedures for the certification of tourism professions such as general manager, covid manager and wedding planner. All of this serves to have a higher level of qualification at national and international level, offering greater guarantees to those who turn to these figures".

The great team of Confassociazioni Tourism, Food, Hospitality is completed by important professionals of the sector such as Annamaria Tiozzo, Vice President in charge of Religious Tourism and Delegate Counsellor of President Deiana for EXPO Dubai 2020, Paolo Capurro, Vice President in charge of Banqueting, Tiziana Briguglio, Vice President in charge of Communication and Events, Alberto D'Alessandro, Vice President in charge of Community and Institutional Relations, Stefano Potortì, Vice President in charge of Educational Tourism, Chiara Pacifico, Vice President in charge of Wedding Planning, Francesco Comotti, Secretary General of the branch.

"We have entrusted President Noschese - said the President of Confassociazioni Angelo Deiana - with a difficult but extraordinarily important mission: to build a platform to strengthen this sector. A complex context in which Confassociazioni is aware of the need to support demand with a qualitative offer based on global industrial formats of the highest level. This is the strategic horizon that we want to pursue in order to enhance a sector such as tourism that is worth 13.7% of GDP, evaluating it even in a narrow perimeter, without the logic of wine, beverage and short term rentals. For this reason, it is important to underline how the question of 'tourism' is still too little at the center of the debate on recovery. We need to do more and we want to be there".
